👋 Quick Start

Ludus runs inside the Unreal Editor. It reads and understands the whole project and acts as an agent that edits Unreal Engine systems, generates assets, plans multi-step work, and stages every change for your approval. Supported engine versions: Unreal Engine 5.4 to 5.8.

Sign up and log in

The first login is also the registration. Sign up with Google, GitHub, or Discord. You must reuse the same provider for every future login, so choose an account you can keep access to.

Note: accounts created before April 19, 2025 must use GitHub login.

Sign-in screen in the web app and login screen in the plugin, both showing Google, GitHub, and Discord as sign-in providers.

Activate the features

Start a trial or pick a plan to activate the features. Choose a plan from the popup after login or from the Billing tab. See Plans & Billing.

Install the plugin

The plugin runs in the Unreal Editor on Unreal Engine 5.4 to 5.8. Always download the latest plugin version.

  1. Log in to app.ludusengine.com.
  2. Choose the latest plugin version.
  3. Choose your UE version (5.4 to 5.8).
  4. Download the Ludus AI plugin.
  5. Open the downloaded file and unpack it.
  6. Move Ludus AI to ENGINE_FOLDER/Engine/Plugins/Marketplace. Default on Windows: C:\Program Files\Epic Games\UE_(your engine version)\Engine\Plugins\Marketplace. Create the Marketplace folder if it is missing.
  7. Open Unreal Engine.
  8. Open Edit -> Plugins.
  9. Find Ludus AI, enable it, and restart Unreal Engine.
  10. Open the Ludus chat from the Level Editor toolbar (the dedicated Ludus button/icon) and log in.

First run

On login, Ludus checks the project for source control. If it detects no Git or Perforce, it warns you. Source control lets you review and revert staged changes with your own tooling.
