â Technical FAQ
Technical specifications, compatibility, and maintenance for the Ludus plugin.
Unreal Engine versionsâ
Ludus supports Unreal Engine 5.4 to 5.8.
For custom engine builds, contact support.
Platform supportâ
The plugin and its installer are built and signed for all three desktop platforms.
- Windows: fully supported. The installer is a signed MSI package. Engines under
C:\Program Filesneed administrator rights, which the installer asks for. - macOS: supported, with native keyboard shortcuts (Cmd+C, Cmd+V, Cmd+X, Cmd+A), improved typing, and international keyboard layouts. The installer is a notarized disk image that runs on Apple silicon (arm64). Intel Macs are not supported.
- Linux: supported. The installer is an AppImage, and it finds engines registered in
~/.config/Epic/UnrealEngine/Install.inias well as the usual install folders.
Plugin maintenance and updatesâ
When a new version is available, the plugin tells you on startup and â when automatic installation is available for your setup â can download and install the update itself; restart the editor to finish. If automatic installation is not available, download the latest installer from the Plugin page in the web app and run it again; it replaces the installed plugin in every engine you select.
Your chat history and settings are preserved across updates.
Crash recoveryâ
After an engine crash, unsaved conversations recover on the next startup. Transient chat failures retry automatically from the last checkpoint. See Troubleshooting.
Data security and complianceâ
Ludus is certified to ISO/IEC 27001:2022 and SOC 2 Type 2, and is fully GDPR compliant. For what Ludus accesses, the controls you have, and private-cloud isolation, see Data Security.
